What Is Arthritis in Ayurveda?
Ayurveda classifies arthritis into Amavata (rheumatoid arthritis) and Sandhivata (osteoarthritis). Amavata is caused by Ama (toxins) combining with Vata and accumulating in joints, while Sandhivata is caused by depletion of joint lubrication (Shleshaka Kapha) and Vata aggravation. Treatment focuses on eliminating Ama, balancing Vata, nourishing joint tissues, and reducing inflammation naturally.
